Joel is a Founder, Managing Principal and Chief Executive Officer at Stategy Capital. He has 22 years of institutional investment management experience. Prior to founding Stategy Capital, he served as Portfolio Manager of U.S. mid- and large-cap equities at Principal Global Investors managing assets of over $6Bn.
His expertise spans both quantitative and qualitative investment disciplines, working throughout his career to leverage the benefits of systematic investing techniques, technological innovation and empirical research. He has been a contributor on Bloomberg Radio, CNBC, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg/Businessweek, and a guest speaker at the Bloomberg Portfolio Manager Mash-Up featuring behavioral finance topics.
Joel holds a Master’s degree for Econometrics & Statistics, Economics and Finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He also holds a B.B.A in Finance from the University of Iowa Henry B. Tippie School of Business. Joel has completed the executive education program Investment Decisions and Behavior Finance at the Harvard Kennedy School in partnership with the CFA Institute. Joel is a CFA® charterholder, and has earned the Certified Private Wealth Advisor® designation to better understand the critical challenges and needs of private wealth clients.
